The impact of this proto-punk garage band reverberates through the decades. They blasted out of Saginaw, Michigan in 1966 with “96 Tears,” the song that was propelled by their enigmatic lead singer’s snarling vocals and the signature sound of the Vox Continental organ. The later hit “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby” is also part of the package as well as the frantic ‘I Need Somebody’.” In all, there are 27 nuggets of rocking, soul-driven ravers on this collection, which is in stores today.
